Now operating as Palawan Adventist Medical Center and College, the facility has been newly renovated and upgraded but it still provides similar service and care Palawan Adventist Hospital has been known for. Its 154 regular and well-trained employees and sixty accredited physicians can serve up to 50 in-patients.


On October 10, 1982, the Seventh Day Adventist started offering its medical services to the people of Palawan. It was started by Dr. & Mrs. Orvillo Varona as Palawan Medical Clinic located at 33 Abad Santos Street, Puerto Princesa City. Six years later, with some assistance from volunteer health professionals, Protestant Central Development and Relief Agency, as well as the Maranatha Flights International, it change its name to Palawan Adventist Hospital located at its present site in Junction 2 National Highway, Puerto Princesa City.

Palawan Adventist Hospital has been at the forefront of offering quality care and holistic services to visitors as well as residents of the province. On January 1, 2010, one of the major developments in the hospital took place when it was granted Tertiary Status by the Department of Health. This gives an assurance of getting excellent service and the best facility and equipment from the best team. The change in the name is symbolic of the many developments that will take place in the facility.

The current building is being renovated and undergoing further expansion. The planned developments are designed for providing patients with better service. The College has been attached to the new name because the facility is offering educational services through the Caregiving Training Center.

In 2009, Palawan Adventist Hospital underwent major changes in compliance with DOH standards for tertiary status. It included construction of a cafeteria, Administrative Building, Laboratory and Information Center. It likewise offered Marketing and Medical Social Services.
