All archeological finds are on display at the Palawan Museum including ethnological collections which pertain to porcelain jars that are centuries old. On display also are the tools used by the ancestors to hunt and trap animals. The Tabon Caves prior to it being opened to the public, held artifacts as evidence of an ancient civilization that dwelled there and these are also at the Palawan Museum. History

The history of the Palawan Museum dates back to a little over a decade ago when tourism picked up on the island. Puerto Princesa City as the seat of government of Palawan felt that aside from its pristine beaches, travelers should also learn about the rich culture of Palawan and hence started a collection of artifacts found on the island. Their collection expanded from just artifacts to a comprehensive library and it was funded partly by government funds and donations.

Entering Palawan Museum entails a nominal fee. For less than Php 100, knowledge awaits at the Palawan Museum which is open from 9am to 5pm 4 times a week. The museum is closed three days of the week, on weekends and every Wednesday
